…”cheap adapters”, ( Less that $30.00 US Dollars ) seem to only support Composite and possibly S-Video, no RGB.
Looking at Adapters in the $30.00 to $50.00 ( US Dollars ) Range, look for the Verbiage, “composite” or “composite video”. For instance, I found these Three Adapters, just today, that have Appropriate Verbiage:
